How we got here. . .
It all started over a 100 years ago . . .
David and Amy Wilinski are the owners of Golden Light Healing Retreat Center and the stewards of this healing oasis. Built upon the land that David's great grandparents homesteaded over 100 years ago, you immediately feel the healing energy of this place as you pull onto the mile long driveway.
David's great-grandpa and grandparents from the Old Country heard the call of this land and settled here with their extended family. Using handsaws and horse & plow they cleared the land to build a home and new life for their family. Grandpa made his own sawmill and built a log home and barns in the traditional way and began to serve their family and community. And so it began . . .
40 years ago. . .
David and Amy Wilinski began hearing the call of the same land. . .
As high school sweethearts, Amy and David planted 500 pines at the farm on what is called Patience Hill. At that time, Amy told her future father-in-law that they shouldn't be planting the trees there because one day she was going to marry his son and build a log home there and she didn't want to cut any down!
Ten years later, David and Amy felt the land calling them back to Wisconsin and moved their growing family back from Florida. They built a log home on "Patience Hill" and began dreaming of their future. Little did they realize at that time that one day this land would be a home for spiritual retreats!
What led us to the present day. . .
Twenty-one years ago, Amy heard the call of the spirit world . . .
Amy has always had an interest in healing, working as an Occupational Therapist for over 25 years in conventional medical settings. An opportunity to experience a Reiki healing session in 2003 led to dramatic shifts in perception and healing of old wounds and grief.
Her spiritual awakening, which she terms, "A Week from Heaven", helped her to recognize the limits in our conventional medical model. After these incredible, direct experiences with the spirit world and her loved ones on the other side, she was shown that she would be on a new path--bringing spirituality and energy healing to people who were closed off much like she was. Amy's ability to bridge the worlds between consensual reality and that of the spirit world is her hallmark gift when teaching others.
Amy was guided to seek training in Reiki, Mediumship, Shamanism and Psychic Development. Amy has had the opportunity to learn from a number of gifted international teachers/authors including: James VanPraagh, Jose Luis Herrera, Alberto Villoldo, Betsy Bergstrom, Doreen Virtue, Gordon Smith, Mavis Pittilla,the medicine people of Peru and at The Arthur Findlay College and de Zwanenhof in the Netherlands. She also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy and a Master's Degree in Business Administration.
David Wilinski is a gifted artist, Operations Manager, and creates the wonderful meals for you here at Golden Light Healing Retreat Center. David brings an earth-based approach to his daily life and walks in beauty as he stewards this land we are blessed to care for.
Golden Light Healing Retreat Center is a beautiful, tranquil setting for connecting with nature and healing your soul. Since its inception in 2004, Golden Light Healing has welcomed people from all over the United States and Canada. In 2017, the 3000 square ft. Retreat Center and cabin expansion was completed.
We offer workshops in shamanism, Mediumship, Reiki, psychic development, drum making and lead spiritual journeys to Peru, Scotland and Ireland.
